Report: US Federal Activities on the Bioeconomy

After the recent post on EU Bioeconomy report, now let’s look at what the US government has been doing so far when it comes to growing its own bioeconomy. Here is a report stating some of the current steps that federal agencies are taking to support and develop the Bioeconomy vision in the US.

This report is a product of interagency collaboration under the Biomass Research and Development (R&D) Board, which includes members from the Departments of Energy, Agriculture, Interior, Transportation, and Defense; the Environmental Protection Agency; the National Science Foundation; and the Office of Science and Technology.

If you want to get an update on this topic, the Biomass R&D Board will be hosting listening sessions, workshops, and webinars in the next few months. Did you even know that there is a Biomass R&D Board? Neither did I. We just hope that the next presidential elections will not mess up all of the good works that these inter-agencies have been doing.

For more on this report, you could also check out a recent Q&A about it at the DOE website.
