Happy New Year, Green Chemicals Blog Community!
As we stand on the threshold of a new year, I am honored to extend my heartfelt gratitude to each of you, the dedicated followers of the Green Chemicals Blog.
In 2023, I stepped out of my comfort zone after a rewarding 23 years of working for two great companies – ICIS (via Chemical Market Report which became ICIS Chemical Business Magazine) and ResourceWise (via Tecnon OrbiChem). They provided me with the experiences and opportunities to grow my market analytical skills and reporting competency while covering the renewable chemicals market. I was often the only one amongst my colleagues covering this tiny sector of bio-based chemicals as they focused on the vast petrochemicals market. My career commenced with covering oleochemicals and pine chemicals in the early 2000s, then expanded into agbiotech and fermentation-based chemicals after the launch of the Green Chemicals Blog in 2007 under the ICIS banner. During my tenure with Tecnon OrbiChem, the industrial biotech sector grew tremendously so that there is consensus in the petrochemical industry that this market has tremendous economically viable potential.
My collaboration with Nova-Institut started in 2017 and this gave me the opportunity to further explore the world of renewable plastics, CO2-based chemicals and materials as well as cellulosic-based fibers and intermediates. I am happy to say that this collaboration will continue under a new consulting company called Green D Market Analytics LLC, which we are formally launching in Q2 2024. As we get further into 2024, I will be releasing a new website, reconfiguring the Green Chemicals Blog, and providing detailed market analytics to Companies and Organizations seeking greater knowledge of this market sector from feedstock to products in the pipeline/entering the market.
I am grateful for the guidance and encouragement provided by my colleagues and mentors in the renewable chemicals industry. Each and everyone’s passion for sustainability, the thirst to improve current chemical practices and innovate the materials we use have been the driving force behind my commitment to covering and analyzing the renewable chemicals sector.
Your unwavering support of the Green Chemicals Blog and my Bio-Materials reporting has not only broadened my knowledge but also instilled in me a deep sense of confidence and purpose. Together, we’ve explored groundbreaking innovations, engaged in insightful discussions, and worked towards creating a world where chemicals and environmental responsibility coexist harmoniously.
As we step into 2024, let’s continue this journey with renewed enthusiasm. May the coming year bring even more sustainable discoveries, meaningful connections, and positive transformations in the realm of green chemistry.
