Diamond Green Diesel lowers biodiesel output

Diamond Green Diesel (DGD), Darling International’s biodiesel joint venture with Valero Energy Corporation, has announced lowered output at its recently started biodiesel facility in St. Charles, Louisiana to 5,000-7,000 bbl/day until mid-October.

DGD is replacing a heat exchanger to improve the plant’s reliability under actual process conditions. DGD will continue to operate during the replacement of the heat exchanger, which is expected to be completed by mid-October. DGD started the plant in June, which has a capacity to produce 9,300 bbl/day of renewable diesel using recycled restaurant grease and animal fats for feedstock.
