Something to monitor as Koch looks to expand in the agbiotech sector.
A press release last month reported an affiliate of Koch Biological Solutions LLC acquiring a minority equity position in Pathway BioLogic LLC, and it has also entered a collaboration with the company.
Pathway is reportedly focusing on live microbial products focusing on enhancing plant health. Pathway’s products are supported by strong fermentation and formulation capabilities.
Koch Biological Solutions has acquired certain assets of Mendel Biotechnology in December 2014 to establish a discovery platform focused on the identification, development and commercialization of biostimulant products.
Koch did not disclose any other details of its investment.
I remember in 2000 when I first covered Monsanto and the company was preparing its IPO. I was already covering the agbiotech industry and Monsanto was releasing press release after press release of their GM soybeans and corn developments. I wish I knew how to invest back then…
