Canada seeks bio-based projects

Bioindustrial Innovation Canada (BIC) is a nationally focused not-for-profit business accelerator who provides critical strategic investment, advice, and services to business developers of clean, green and sustainable technologies. BIC is currently seeking Letters of Intent (LOI) for research projects to be considered as part of BIC’s BioProducts AgSci Cluster under an anticipated Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC) policy framework (2023-2028).

The BioProducts AgSci Cluster is a pre-commercial science and technology cluster funded by AAFC as part of their Agriscience policy framework and initiatives.

Examples of project focus that fit the criteria include the following sub-areas:

  • Biofuels & bioenergy
  • Biochemicals & co-products
  • Biomaterials & biocomposites (including biochar and bio-based soil amendments)
  • Biomass Supply to Bioproducts (e.g. feedstocks quality, logistics, etc.)

Full details of the LOI can be found in the document below. Interested applicants should submit a Letter of Interest to the BIC’s BioProducts AgSci Cluster no later than Friday, February 11, 2022, 5:00pm EST.

All submissions are to be sent to Michael Faba, BIC Project Manager, at michaelf@bincanada.ca.
