DSM’s EcoPaXX in aluminum windows

DSM has launched the use of its EcoPaXX® Polyamide 4.10, a polymer with a bio-based content of 70% in insulating profiles of aluminum window frames. Many insulating profiles currently uses PA 6.6, which provide a thermal break that contributes to the mechanical integrity of the windows, and make an important contribution to the energy efficiency of the building. EcoPaXX’s advantages above and beyond those associated with its environmental credentials include high melting point of 250°C, excellent hydrolysis and chemical resistance, and offers significantly lower moisture absorption than PA 6.6.
