Everybody who has been following me since my 12-year stint in ICIS knows that I always have this love/frustrated relationship with the oleochemicals market. Frustrated because it is a very difficult market to understand with so many feedstock, products, co-products, by-products, downstream derivatives, etc., that you need to understand and comprehend.

I did a presentation last year on a general overview of the market but if you really want to get in-depth information and who’s who dealing in this industry, you have to attend one of ICIS’ oleochemicals conference held every year in Asia, Europe and for the first time, here in the US, which I will luckily be able to attend.

ICIS is holding its first Pan American Oleochemicals conference in Miami, Florida, on October 16-17. I will try to tweet from there with the hashtag #ICIS #oleochemicals via @Dgreenblogger.  However, I am definitely looking forward to network with companies dealing within the oleochemical industry. I hope to see some of you there!
