“Let’s strive for a more sustainable future and contribute to a world where chemicals and the environment can coexist harmoniously.
Doris de Guzman examines alternative processing, new technology, R&D and other sustainability initiatives aimed at preventing pollution and lowering carbon emissions through news aggregation, market data analysis and information collaboration.
Doris de Guzman (BSChE) (USA) has been covering the business of sustainable chemistry for more than two decades and provides market analysis on renewable chemicals and materials, including bio-based intermediates, biopolymers, industrial biotechnology processing, and other low-carbon technology as founder of the Green Chemicals Blog, and senior industry consultant.
Doris de Guzman is also part of the nova-Institute’s bio-based polymer expert group. More reports of expert group members are available at the Renewable Carbon website.
The Green Chemicals Blog first appeared on 8th November 2007 as part of the ICIS blog community and successfully expanded until publication was interrupted from July to August 2012 as the blog left the ICIS platform and continued as a non-corporate private entity dedicated to covering the business of sustainability within the chemicals and materials markets. In March 2013, the Green Chemicals Blog partnered with UK-based consulting firm Tecnon OrbiChem in able for both parties to explore the market intricacies between renewable chemicals and petrochemicals. As a senior consultant, Doris de Guzman provided Tecnon OrbiChem exposure and industry connections within the renewable chemicals and fuels markets through the monthly Biomaterials newsletter publication that regularly covered up-to-date market information on various renewable carbon-based chemical building blocks, intermediates, bioplastics as well as their fossil-based counterpart.
In mid-2023, Doris de Guzman decided to finally devote full-time efforts to making this blog as robust as feasible and full of critical information along with valuable industry reconnaissance. Along with the significant blog reconfigurations and enhancements, there will be other product offerings that provide consultative services that are currently unavailable or underdeveloped in the market. The critical infrastructure for the Green Chemicals Blog is expected to be developed for the rest of 2024 to support new product offerings. As of 2024, the Green Chemicals Blog is now an affiliate of the newly-launched company, Green D Market Analytics LLC.
“The relationships I have built in my consulting career and with the readers are what motivated me to embark on this journey and I thank all of you for your time and support. Let’s explore new opportunities, collaborate and continue to positively impact the renewable chemicals field.”

Doris,
My name is Scott Bailey, and I have a company that is working to reduce waste and deadstock in the chemical distribution industry. I have done some significant data collection and have put it into a blog that I haven’t released yet. I was hoping to bend your ear for a quick interview or conversation to see if the information may be of value to you. Is there a way we can chat over email?
Thanks
Scott Bailey
Hi Scott,
Apologies for the late response. Please email me at doris@greenchemicalsblog.com
Your article is excellent, gathering global information. In recent years, China has developed rapidly in terms of green degradability, which can be shared.
